Recordando a nuestros antepasados. (Remembering our ancestors)

Hoy quiero formar parte de una celebración especial que hace todos los años un blog que sigo (Chocolate on my Cranium).

En Septiembre, este blog celebra la salida de La Familia: una proclamación para el mundo, un documento oficial de La Iglesia de Jesucristo de los Santos de los Últimos Días sobre la familia, para la familia y para la comunidad en general.

Aunque es un blog en inglés y la invitación está en inglés, yo también quiero participar.

Hoy voy a escribir sobre la abuela de mi marido:

Ella es la abuela Visitación. Es la madre de mi suegra y su historia siempre me inspira. Nació en 1910, en Argentina, pero era de padres españoles. El destino hizo que se casara con un español, nacido en Granada, pero que también emigró a Argentina cuando era un niño pequeño. Ella fue un ejemplo de trabajo duro y dedicación a su familia y a sus hijos. Tuvo 11 hijos, de los cuáles la menor fue mi suegra. Se levantaba todas las mañanas temprano para cocinar para todos sus hijos y los trabajadores que tenían. Todos desayunaban, comían y cenaban en su casa. Todo el pan era casero y hacían kilos y kilos de pan. Trabajaba mucho para que todos estuvieran bien.

Mi suegra me cuenta que nunca regañó ni gritó a ninguno de sus hijos, sino que fue un ejemplo de enseñar y educar mediante amor y paciencia.

Cuando estoy cansada o pienso que no puedo más, y sólo tengo una niña, pienso en ella, que fue capaz de tener 11 hijos en aquella época que no había agua corriente, electrodomésticos que nos facilitaran la vida, y otras comodidades.

Ella fue una luchadora.

Today I will write about my husband's grandmother:

She is Visitation. It's the mother of my mother in law, and her story always inspires me. She was born in 1910, in Argentina, but her parents were Spanish. The fate made her marry a Spanish, born in Granada, whom also emigrated to Argentina when he was a toddler. She was an example of hard work and dedication to his family and children. She had 11 children, the last one being my mother in law. She got up very early every morning to cook for all his children and the workers they had. All ate breakfast, lunch and dinner at home. All the bread was homemade and she made kilos and kilos of bread. She worked hard so that everyone could be fine.

My mother in law tells me she never scolded or yelled at any of her children, but was an example of teaching and educating through love and patience.

When I'm tired and I cannot do more - and I just have one girl! - I think of her. She was able to have 11 children at that time there was no running water, appliances to provide us life, and other amenities.

She was a fighter!
